The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and equipment related to all aspects of company manufacturing and production demands and schedules.
Preventive Maintenance- Inspect and perform routine preventative maintenance inspections, prioritize work, and complete necessary repairs on a variety of equipment and machinery used in the production and manufacture of company products.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, overhead crane systems, and production machines.
- Perform facilities maintenance, inspect, clean, lubricate, change filters, replace office lights, make electrical and plumbing repairs, and adjust drive belts and mechanical linkage.
- Improve reliability and uptime for all equipment by proactively addressing maintenance issues.
- Document work completed and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date maintenance logs and records, including results of PM inspections and repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and devices.
- Dismantle and examine devices to access and remove defective parts.
- Adjust functional parts of devices, equipment, and control instruments.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Understand layout and plan sequence of operations to maximize production efficiency.
- Overhaul, modify, and rebuild equipment and component assemblies to established specifications, using skills such as welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and machine shop knowledge.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications when troubleshooting malfunctions and making repairs.
- Fabricate repair parts when required.
- Ensure equipment and machinery operate properly and determine extent of repairs.
- Perform maintenance, rebuild, and repair work on all equipment in the facility to support production needs.
- Research and order supplies, parts, and tools needed to complete repairs/replacement; drive company vehicle to pick up and/or deliver parts.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Operate forklift, man lift, and hydraulic working platform as needed and in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
- Start up and shut down equipment in line with company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Work safely to avoid endangering self or co‑workers; report unsafe conditions.
