We are currently seeking a Paint Operations Assistant to join our Weekend Shift team at our Price, Utah facility. This position reports directly to the Paint Supervisor and offers an excellent opportunity to develop industrial painting skills while building a long-term career.

Schedule Friday – Sunday 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM Position Summary

The Paint Operations Assistant provides support within the paint department by preparing equipment, materials, and work areas for industrial painting operations. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for someone interested in learning the industrial painting trade, with training and advancement opportunities available.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare equipment and components for painting by cleaning, washing, masking, taping, caulking, vacuuming, and hanging parts.
  • Load and unload components onto paint racks.
  • Operate pressure washing equipment.
  • Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
  • Prepare and clean metal surfaces to OEM quality standards.
  • Re‑tap threaded holes and perform surface preparation as needed.
  • Assist with disassembly, cleaning, and minor equipment repairs.
  • Perform touch‑up work, patching, and surface repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Training & Growth Opportunities

Employees may receive on‑the‑job training to become an Industrial Painter. Training may include:

  • Operating and maintaining paint equipment
  • Removing existing coatings and preparing surfaces for finishing
  • Identifying proper surface preparation methods
  • Mixing paints and industrial coatings
  • Applying epoxies, enamels, urethanes, varnishes, lacquers, stains, and other protective finishes
  • Operating conventional, airless, and HVLP spray equipment
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met and minimizing rework
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate IE’s Core Values in daily work activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Assist the Final Assembly department with assembling and installing electrical components when needed.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.
