The HEART Social Connection Coordinator will support Utah State University Extension's Health Extension:
Advocacy, Research, and Teaching (HEART) Initiative in implementing Rural Connections:
Bringing Community Together Through Crafting, a community-based initiative designed to increase social connection, foster belonging, and promote health and wellness.
Working in partnership with the Price City Library and other local organizations, the coordinator will assist with planning and facilitating four Community Craft Night events. The position will help create welcoming and inclusive opportunities for adults and older youth of all abilities to gather, learn new skills, build relationships, and connect with community resources.
Position start date is flexible.
Responsibilities- Assist with planning, coordination, setup, and cleanup for four Community Craft Night events.
- Plan and facilitate engaging, hands-on activities that promote creativity, conversation, and social connection.
- Welcome and engage participants in a friendly, inclusive, and supportive manner.
- Encourage positive social interaction, relationship-building, and community engagement among attendees.
- Provide basic instruction and assistance with planned craft or creative activities.
- Assist with incorporating educational information related to social connection, mental wellness, healthy coping strategies, and community resources.
- Support participant registration, attendance tracking, and post-event evaluation activities.
- Assist with distributing information about local resources and opportunities for continued community involvement.
- Coordinate collaborative community outreach and volunteer opportunities for local health and wellness organizations.
- Collaborate with USU Extension faculty and staff, Price City Library personnel, and other community partners.
- Assist with event logistics and other duties necessary to support successful implementation of the project.

- Experience working with community members, facilitating activities, or supporting group programs is preferred.
- Experience or interest in crafts, creative activities, recreation, education, or community engagement is beneficial.
- Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Dependable, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- The HEART Social Connection Coordinator will play an important role in helping community members gather, create, connect, and build a stronger sense of belonging within Price City.
