Warehouse Associate – Delivery Driver
Warehouse Associates are responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing, packaging, shipping and receiving orders to ensure timely delivery to customers. This role involves maintaining organized work areas, inspecting items for quality and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth overall warehouse operations. The Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to customers, ensuring accurate deliveries and excellent customer service.
This role involves loading and unloading vehicles, planning routes, and adhering to safety and company standards.
- Deliver goods safely and efficiently to customers as per assigned routes and schedules.
- Assist with loading and unloading products, ensuring items are handled properly to avoid damage.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing fuel and time.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively and professionally during deliveries.
- Verify delivery accuracy by obtaining signatures, completing delivery logs, and reporting any issues or discrepancies.
- Perform routine vehicle checks, report maintenance needs, and keep the vehicle clean and organized.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during deliveries.
- Handle delivery challenges, such as incorrect addresses or customer concerns, and report unresolved issues to management.
- Assist with basic warehouse tasks when not on delivery routes, such as organizing inventory or preparing orders.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments specific to each customer order, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Process shipping labels and documents while prepping products in staging areas for transportation or pickups.
- Check incoming goods for defects, damages, or discrepancies, and report issues to the supervisor or purchasing department.
- Update inventory systems with received items and ensure proper labeling and storage in designated locations.
- Complete receiving logs, file necessary paperwork, and maintain accurate records for inventory tracking.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Collaborate and assist with receiving, shipping, inventory, and quality control operations to ensure smooth workflow and accurate stock levels.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area, ensuring it is clean and free from hazards.
- Process returned items or defective goods, coordinating with vendors or suppliers for replacements or credits.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using receiving software and systems.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with inventory systems or ERP software is a plus.
- Forklift certification is an advantage but not required.
