ABOUT THE JOB

The Ministry of Community Safety is responsible for providing a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan. Community Corrections is seeking a skilled, ethical, and confident individual to provide comprehensive clerical support in the Prince Albert Community Corrections office.

The Ministry is seeking a candidate who has excellent communication and positive interpersonal skills, with a keen sense for detail. As administrative support, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing reception services in person and over the phone, entering and retrieving data using various software programs, maintaining records, retrieving and searching files for information, receiving, sorting, and distributing mail, and operating and maintaining office equipment.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of applicable computer hardware and software applications and terminology and will have demonstrated their ability to input, update, retrieve, maintain, format, and transmit information using computer software with speed and accuracy. Their ability to accurately type, edit, and format various documentsandyour ability to use tact and diplomacy when serving clients and colleagues will contribute to your success in this challenging position.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from the public and redirect calls.
  • Monitor and code expenditures, and prepare and process business expense forms, invoices, and contracts.
  • Provide support to the team, including assisting with equipment and software issues.
  • Compose, record, proofread, and edit a variety of correspondence.
  • Coordinate and schedule travel, event logistics, meetings, equipment, and CVA vehicles as required.
  • Compile, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Acquire, purchase, and maintain inventory such as forms, office supplies, and equipment.
