Peter Ballantyne Child & Family Services Inc. is accepting applications for one (1) House Mother for the Southend Receiving Home 1.

Under the supervision of the supervisor, the House Mother will be responsible:

• Providing nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide every day
• Keeping the facility clean and sanitary at all times
• Operating as a parent/guardian for the children in the facility by ensuring that quality care is provided by means of teaching, setting limits and priorities and following routines within the kitchen area
• Providing a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for children in their care.
• Maintaining discipline, developing and implementing daily routine, and creating a sense of family and community.
• Ensure that the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties are completed.
• Ordering food and cleaning supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 with 2 years’ experience
• Must have a Safe Food Handling Certificate
• Written and oral communication.
• Maturity and stability/Lead a healthy lifestyle.
• Commitment to working with families.
• Willingness to participate in on-going training.
• Willingness to travel when required
• Willingness to learn and work with high risk and special needs children.
• Knowledge of Woodland Cree language, culture and the political and social objectives of PBCN First Nation.
• Persons of First Nation’s Ancestry are encouraged to apply.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
