The Service Technician diagnoses, repairs, maintains, and inspects equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role supports customer productivity through high-quality technical service delivered in both shop and field environments, while adhering to company safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The Service Technician works collaboratively with Parts, Service Advisors, and fellow technicians, and represents the company's commitment to safety, professionalism, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Service & Repair:65
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements.
- Test and verify equipment performance following service to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
- Provide in-shop and field service support, including peak-season and emergency repairs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete accurate work orders, including labour time, parts used, and detailed service notes.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and safe work practices at all times.
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly; exercise stop-work authority when required.
Collaboration:
- Communicate findings and service recommendations clearly to customers and Service Advisors.
- Work collaboratively with Parts and Service teams to support timely, high-quality repairs.
- Support apprentices and junior technicians through on-the-job guidance and knowledge sharing, as applicable.
- Participate in manufacturer and internal training to maintain current product and technical knowledge.
- Stay current on equipment, technology, and evolving service practices.
- Contribute to quality, efficiency, and process improvements within the service department.
- Journeyperson.
- Agricultural or Heavy Equipment Technician certification preferred; actively registered apprentices will be considered.
- Previous experience servicing agricultural or heavy equipment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience completing equipment inspections, work orders, and service documentation accurately.
- Valid driver's licence required.
Field service work requires local travel.
