Lead HAZMAT Team at GFL

Join GFL as the HAZMAT Team Leader overseeing emergency responses and team training. This key role involves project planning and driving safety standards in hazardous situations.

As the HAZMAT Team Leader, you will manage a skilled team responding to dynamic projects and emergencies. Your responsibilities include chemical transloading, neutralization, and ensuring operational readiness of emergency equipment. You will coordinate resources and implement GFL's safety protocols while engaging in training and site visits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to HAZMAT emergencies across various modes of transport

• Perform chemical transloading and neutralization as required

• Ensure emergency equipment is ready and well-maintained

• Lead safety initiatives and conduct safety meetings

• Track project metrics and report to management

Requirements:

• Class 5 driver’s license;
Class 1 or 3 preferred

• Ability to handle hazardous materials or emergency response

• Physically fit to wear protective clothing

• Experience in HAZMAT fields considered an asset

• Willingness to work flexible hours and travel
