Position: Financial Auditor Committee Member Opportunity

Join the Finance and Audit Committee of Cheslatta Carrier Nation for impactful financial oversight. This role focuses on strategic financial planning and governance support.

Cheslatta Carrier Nation is looking for two experienced individuals to join its Finance and Audit Committee. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years in finance or related fields and general knowledge of First Nation governance and funding. The committee’s mission is to advise the Council, ensuring that financial matters are sound and transparent through regular meetings and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and recommend multi-year financial plans

• Oversee audit procedures and effectiveness

• Review financial statements for accuracy

• Monitor internal controls and financial reporting

• Attend committee meetings at least quarterly

Requirements:

• Five years of experience in finance or accounting

• Extensive work with First Nation organizations

• Strong understanding of financial documents

• No financial interests in CCN

• Willingness to serve a minimum of 36 months
