Forestry operations manager

Overview

Drake Resources Ltd. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Prince George forestry operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating field crews, equipment, trucking, and project execution while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

• Lead, supervise, and support field and shop personnel.
• Coordinate daily operations, staffing, equipment, and trucking resources.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and progress.
• Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and manage project changes.
• Review employee timesheets and oversee daily operational reporting and documentation.
• Support onboarding of new employees and coordinate with Human Resources on staffing requirements.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.
• Prepare estimates and quotations for service work, conduct site assessments, and develop new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while identifying opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

• Previous experience supervising crews in forestry, construction, or a related industrial environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple crews, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Strong computer skills and experience with operational reporting and documentation.
• Valid Class 5 driver s licence (Class 1 is considered an asset).
