Responsibilities:
- Lead daily repair shop operations, including workforce planning, productivity, and budget management
- Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of locomotives and rail equipment
- Drive fleet reliability, equipment availability, and on-time delivery targets
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards
- Lead and develop supervisors and employees in a unionized environment
- Manage incident response, investigations, and corrective actions
- Coordinate staffing schedules and resource allocation
- Build positive labor relations and address employee performance matters
- Monitor key performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize operations and service delivery
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising unionized and non-unionized employees
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a railroad mechanical shop or related industrial maintenance environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Technology is considered an asset
- Valid driver's license required
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with maintenance operations, safety compliance, and workforce management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an asset
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
