Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 CAD per year

The Northern Regional Construction Association (NRCA) is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead one of Northern British Columbia's most respected industry associations. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished executive to shape the future of the construction industry while strengthening the voice and value of over 230 member organizations across Northern BC.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, financial sustainability, and operational excellence of the Association. The successful candidate will champion the interests of the construction industry, build meaningful partnerships, and ensure the Association continues to deliver exceptional value to its members.

Founded in the early 1960s, the Northern Regional Construction Association is a non-profit membership organization representing more than 230 industrial, commercial, institutional, and construction‑related businesses throughout Northern British Columbia.

From Williams Lake to Prince George, Fort St. John, Terrace, and beyond, NRCA serves as the trusted voice for the construction industry by advocating for members, strengthening industry capacity, and fostering collaboration across the region.

The Opportunity

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership to the Association while serving as its principal ambassador. Working closely with the Board of Directors, you will execute the strategic plan, oversee daily operations, ensure financial sustainability, and build strong relationships with members, government, industry partners, educational institutions, and community organizations.

You will inspire staff, volunteers, committees, and stakeholders around a shared vision while identifying opportunities to grow membership, strengthen advocacy efforts, and expand the Association's impact throughout Northern BC.

This role is ideally suited for a collaborative leader who enjoys building relationships, influencing positive change, and creating long‑term value for members and the broader construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Association's strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors.
  • Provide visionary leadership that advances NRCA's mission and long‑term sustainability.
  • Identify emerging opportunities, risks, and industry trends that affect members.

Advocacy & Industry Relations

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for NRCA.
  • Build productive relationships with government, industry associations, Indigenous communities, educational institutions, and workforce development organizations.
  • Advocate on behalf of members regarding procurement, workforce development, industry policy, and construction best practices.

Member Engagement & Growth

  • Enhance member value through innovative programs and services.
  • Grow membership while strengthening engagement and retention.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive member community.
  • Execute a minimum of three (3) events in the region outside of Prince George

Operational Excellence

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing team.
  • Ensure effective governance practices and support the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee organizational policies, risk management, and operational performance.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets.
  • Pursue sponsor ships, partnerships, grants, and other revenue opportunities.

Brand & Communications

  • Protect and strengthen NRCA's reputation.
