Support the Omineca region's fisheries program as a Small Lakes Fisheries Biologist. This role involves providing decision support and conducting assessments for healthy fish populations.
In this collaborative position, you'll manage the regional stocking program and work closely with aquatic habitat biologists. Your expertise will focus on sustainable resource management and ensuring the vitality of freshwater ecosystems. Key responsibilities include authorizations, assessments, and fostering partnerships within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide decision support for fish authorizations
• Conduct fisheries assessments in small lakes
• Manage and oversee the regional stocking program
• Support sustainable freshwater ecosystem development
• Collaborate with specialists in aquatic habitat
Requirements:
• Degree in biological sciences or related field
• Minimum four years of relevant fisheries experience
• Registered or eligible as Registered Professional Biologist in B.C.
• Valid British Columbia Class 5 driver’s licence
• Criminal Record Check and Criminal Record Review Act Check
