Ecosystem Biologist in British Columbia

Location: Burns Lake

Contribute to sustainable resource management in British Columbia as an Ecosystem Biologist with the BC Public Service. Engage in habitat conservation and collaborate with First Nations in a hybrid work model.

This role within the Resource Stewardship Division focuses on providing biological expertise to inform government decisions and environmental stewardship initiatives. You will be involved in species-at-risk recovery, habitat restoration, and supporting conservation planning, while also fostering partnerships with Indigenous Nations and stakeholders. Your work will significantly impact resource management in northwest British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct biological sampling and analysis in field settings

• Review permits and applications for ecological impact

• Provide scientific advice for land-use planning

• Collaborate with First Nations on resource management

• Support habitat protection and species recovery initiatives

Requirements:

• Undergraduate Degree in biological sciences or related field

• Three years of relevant biological experience

• Knowledge of environmental monitoring and assessments

• Eligibility for registration as RPBio

• Valid BC driver’s license
