Security Systems Technician

About this role

We are recruiting for Security Systems Technician's to join our Prince George, BC Service teams. This position requires you to be a certified Electrician or Security System Technician.

• Working on various job sites to install, configure and commission various electrical Security, Access Control and Healthcare systems, including CCTV Camera, Video surveillance, Access Door Controls, Intrusion Detection, Nurse Call, RTLS, etc.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, circuit diagrams and other construction documents to ensure the correct installations in residential, commercial and healthcare buildings.
• Respond to customer service calls, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical system problems.
• Work closely with customers to provide ongoing service, repairs and programming of electrical systems. Maintain accurate records of installs and service calls.
• Program and integrate different electrical Security and Access Control systems.
• Train users on various products and systems (Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon).

• Must hold a valid Security Technician Trade Qualification or be a Certified Electrician with experience installing Security or Healthcare Technologies.
• Must have experience working on active construction sites.
• Hold a valid Security Alarm Installer License or be willing to obtain it.
• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting Security Technologies, Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion/Burglar Alarms, RTLS, Patient Wandering Alerts, Networks and Communication electronics.
• Preferred if you have knowledge in the following product lines - Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon.
• Experience working on hospital or healthcare construction projects with healthcare systems (Nurse call, Patient Wandering, RLTS) would be a strong asset.
• Strong attention to detail, and good organizational and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license and hold a clean driving record.
• Willing to work after hours and be on call.

Must be a member of the IBEW 993 Union or willing to become one. All hiring is subject to IBEW 993's dispatch process.

Salary range: Compensation through the IBEW 993 Collective Agreement plus great benefits and pension.
