Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician/HET to join our Power & Energy service team, supporting Caterpillar (CAT) generator systems across a variety of customer sites and industries. This role is primarily responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting/repairs of CAT generator sets, battery energy storage systems, electrical distribution/control systems, and compressed air products. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in a field‑based environment while representing Finning and Caterpillar to the highest standard.

- Wage $55.84 ($50.25/hr during probation)
- $2.55 field premium when working at a remote mine site, $3.55 field premium when dispatched out of a local branch
- Dual ticket premium $3.25/hr
- Shift: 7×7 or 14×14 continuous shift. All hours worked on Sundays paid at double‑time
- Up to $1,000 travel assist per 28‑day rotation
- Paid Time Off in Year 1:
Vacation and Sick - Pension with 6% employee minimum contribution and 1.00% Finning match

Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning
- Install, commission, service, and troubleshoot CAT generator sets (diesel and natural gas)
- Perform electrical work on generator controls (EMCP/ECS platforms), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), switch gear and distribution equipment, paralleling and load‑sharing systems, and control systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and single line diagrams
- Perform functional testing and verification, load‑bank testing
- Perform mechanical work on large diesel and natural gas engines and air compressors
- Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal preferred)
- HET Certification (apprenticeses will be considered) or willingness to pursue apprenticeship
- Electrical Safety Training – Arc Flash and Shock (CSAZ
462) - FSRA or FSRB credential would be considered an asset
- Proven experience working on generators or power systems
- Experience with generator installation and commissioning, natural gas & diesel engine systems, ATS and emergency power systems, electrical troubleshooting in industrial environments, power generation experience, generator rebuild experience, heavy‑duty mechanical experience or certification considered an asset
- Team player capable of working with minimal supervision in challenging conditions
- Safety conscious with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a recent successful driver abstract
