Resident Technician - Quesnel

Overview

Finning Canada is seeking the best Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to become a Resident Technician in the Quesnel area. This position involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar general line, forestry, and mining equipment in a field environment.

• $54.79 - $60.88 hourly
• Paid Time Off (Vacation & Sick time)

• Troubleshoot equipment and perform equipment repairs, possibly at remote locations
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Work with Supervisor on various tasks
• Provide support with reference to on‑site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clear drivers abstract
• Dedication to safety, self‑motivated, ability to work with limited supervision
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line (asset)
• Engine/component rebuilding experience (asset)
• Power generation experience (asset)

• Position based in Quesnel, BC;
  Monday‑Friday shift (future shift work may be required)
• Must reside in Quesnel or surrounding area
• Union membership required; dues deducted from pay; governed by collective agreement
