Position: Heavy Equipment Technician Needed in BC
SMS Equipment is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson in Prince George, BC. This full-time role emphasizes safety and independence while supporting mining operations.

In this position, you will perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on heavy equipment. Troubleshooting under challenging conditions will be essential, as will adherence to safety regulations. Your efforts will enhance our operations in a remote field environment where autonomous work is key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems

• Conduct overhauls and machinery maintenance

• Utilize diagnostic tools for troubleshooting

• Operate safely in confined spaces and adverse weather

• Engage in continuous improvement of safety practices

Requirements:

• Journeyperson certification in Heavy Equipment Technology

• Proven experience with mining and construction equipment

• Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs

• Strong dedication to safety standards

• Successful completion of required pre-employment tests
