Automotive and Heavy Duty Mechanic

Join CN as an Automotive and Heavy Duty Mechanic, where your mechanical skills will keep our diverse fleet running smoothly. This role encompasses both in-shop and field responsibilities to repair and service various vehicles.

CN is looking for a dedicated Mechanic with a valid Provincial Journeyman Certificate in Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport. Candidates will bring expertise in servicing and repairing vehicles and equipment while working outdoors and indoors as necessary. This position may also require flexible shifts to match the availability of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute both minor and major vehicle repairs and servicing

• Utilize welding equipment effectively for varied repairs

• Accurately document repair details according to established guidelines

• Fulfill duties in shop settings and on field locations

• Adapt to changing work schedules based on vehicle needs

Requirements:

• Minimum five years of experience in mechanical repair

• Capable of certification according to standards

• Valid driver’s license and necessary hand tools needed

• Ability to service Hirail equipment as part of responsibilities

• Commitment to working across various environments
