Finning is growing —and so are the opportunities! We are hiring a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Integrated Mining Team (IMT). In this role you will perform troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, power systems and mining equipment throughout BC and the Yukon. • $50.25 - $55.84 / hr (probationary to full rate)
  • $2.55 Remote Mine Premium
  • $3.25 Night Shift Premium
  • $3.55 Field Premium (when working out of a branch)
  • Sundays paid at double time
• Shift: 14 x 14 - 15 additional scheduled weeks off a year!

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a field environment
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Complete required paperwork and maintain clear customer communication

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Red Seal Off Road certificate required
• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent driver’s abstract
• 3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, with demonstrated time in the field; mining operations is an asset
• Strong skills in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset

• This position is based on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
• Up to $1,000 / rotation travel allowance to get to marshalling point (tax free)
• A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable

This is a unionized position. Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
