West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Cariboo Pulp is currently recruiting for a Journeyperson Millwright (Industrial Mechanic).

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright will be a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort through daily use of troubleshooting and predictive, preventative maintenance strategies. As a member of this high performing team, you will be responsible for working safely on all machinery within the pulp mill.

You’ll Do:

  • Be a key player in a company-wide continuous improvement effort
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and perform maintenance work on machinery
  • Undertake preventative and predictive maintenance program for equipment
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to assemble equipment
  • Utilize knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvements and savings

You have:

  • Heavy industry experience
  • Commitment to working safely and creating a safe work place
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • A valid driver’s license

Compensation Package:

  • The hourly pay rate for this position will follow the collective agreement between Unifor 1115 and Cariboo Pulp & Paper Company, which is currently $48.66/hour
  • Outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, vacation, and holidays.
