Become an Underground Mine Trainer at Hecla Keno Hill, where you’ll lead essential training initiatives for underground miners. Your focus on safety and development will be crucial in this role.
In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for training and certifying miners in narrow-vein hard-rock mining techniques, ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will develop curricula and promote environmental consciousness within the mining workforce to enhance current practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Train miners in various tasks including bolting and mucking
• Conduct safety training and monitor adherence to best practices
• Support miners in acquiring necessary tools and resources
• Collaborate with supervisors to meet production targets
• Assist in the development and improvement of SOPs
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Over 5 years of underground mining experience
• Familiarity with bolters and muckers essential
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Obtain Yukon Permanent First Line Supervisor Certificate
