Position Overview:
Finning is growing - and so are the opportunities! We’re hiring multiple field experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics for our BC Mobile Team. In this role you will support customer needs throughout BC and the Youkon. If you are a customer focused Heavy Duty Mechanic (with Red Seal endorsement); looking for stability and career growth then our Alberta Mobile Team is for you.
In It For You:
- $50.25 - $55.84 / hr (probationary to full rate)
- $2.55 Remote Mine Premium
- $3.25 Night Shift Premium
- $3.55 Field Premium (when working out of a branch)
- Sundays paid at double time
- Shift: 14 x 14 - 15 additional scheduled weeks off a year!
- Travel Support:
Up to $1,000 travel allowance per rotation - Share Purchase options (with matching) and Employer paid Pension

- CAT certified training:
Additional certifications and skill development paid for by Finning
- Field diagnosis and running repairs of Caterpillar and non-Caterpillar equipment, in field environment (possibility of remote locations)
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification (On-Road & Off Road)
- Dual Tickets will be an asset
- 3+ years demonstrated experience in a Field Truck
- Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
- Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset
- Willingness to participate and complete additional training
- Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
This role supports our customers throughout BC and the YK Shift is 14 x 14
A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, Fitness testing and a Clear Background check) and wear a respirator where applicable
Union Membership:You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
