3rd year apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic

Overview

Our client is an established company with multiple locations in Western Canada. Their customers are throughout the US and Canada marketplace. They have had success over several decades selling and servicing heavy industrial equipment for the pulp and paper, oil and gas, rail, transportation, and manufacturing sectors.

Due to a promotion in the shop, their is currently a need to hire a heavy equipment shop and road mechanic. In this role you will work Mon-Fri with some overtime available. You will do a lot of work on on mobile equipment, the ideal candidate will have some exposure to working on engines and drivelines. Typically the work is about 75% in the shop with about 25% of the work in the field on short regional out of town trips paid by the company.

The expectation will be that a candidate is able to follow through and complete their red seal certification with the support of the employer. Competitive wage, pension, profit share, excellent benefits, and fair vacation allotment are available for the successful candidate in this role.

Requirements

-3 plus years of mechanic experience.

-Have desire to obtain Red Seal Heavy Equipment Mechanic license

-Background with drivelines and engines preferred

-High mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge is an asset.

-Outstanding troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities.

-Clear verbal and written English skills.

-Ability to interact professionally and in a positive level headed manner with customers.

-Someone who wants to grow within a company and work in a smaller shop.
