Heavy Duty Mechanic in Mining

Become a valued Heavy Duty Mechanic at Finning Canada in the mining industry. This permanent position focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Caterpillar equipment throughout BC and Yukon.

Finning Canada is expanding and seeking multiple Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to contribute to their Drills & Shovels Integrated Mining Team. In this role, you will excel in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery and provide essential support to ensure operational efficiency. Candidates should have strong skills in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, as well as experience in the field of mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair CAT equipment in the field

• Perform maintenance on various Caterpillar systems

• Diagnose faults using testing equipment

• Ensure clear communication with customers

• Complete maintenance paperwork accurately

Requirements:

• Red Seal Off Road certificate required

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician Certification

• 3+ years experience as a Journeyperson Technician

• Valid driver’s license with clean abstract

• Experience with Cable Shovels is an asset
