Job Title:
Specialized Assembly Operator

- Assemble housings and cylinders
- Perform fill, test, and regulate functions on closers to ensure proper operation
- Adjust mechanisms as required to ensure all parts run smoothly and as intended
- Build sub-assemblies for stations, including speed controls, end plugs, couplers, rams, piston heads, and ball/nut assemblies
- Perform quality checks on parts and products
- Follow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standards
- Perform other duties as assigned and extend into other areas as needed
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
- Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships
- Work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusions
- Use Kanban workflow for optimal build performance
- Follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.
- Read, interpret, and perform from various documents, including method sheets, safety rules, Kanban cards, printed shop schedules, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals
- Identify components and possess extensive parts knowledge
- Identify and obtain appropriate parts for work station operation
- Use CRT and data entry technologies (bar code, key entry); work with AS400 computer application
- General knowledge of machinery related to areas of responsibility
- Judge distances, spatial relationships, and perform visual and/or mechanical inspections; distinguish colors and finishes
- Basic math and computer skills
- Perform job at the same or lower labor grade than current job
- Manual dexterity; use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body; perform repetitive motions
- Stand, walk, and/or sit frequently and for extended periods of time
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Frequently lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and rarely lift up to 60 pounds (lifts over 35 pounds should be done with assistance)
- Use two hand palm buttons
- Use pneumatic tools
- Use testing equipment
- Exposure to various chemicals including greases, oils, and adhesives in safe exposure amounts approved by EHS
- Exposure to temperature changes
- Exposure to moderate noise levels with intermittent loud noises
- Exposure to vibration
- Exposure to dirt and/or dust
- Exposure to sharp objects and parts
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, protected by approved guarding and controls
Minimum requirements:
One year of related experience.
Base hourly range: $18.50 - $25.77. Bonus eligible:
