Job Description
We are searching for a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to join our 2nd Shift Team!
The Quality Specialist is responsible for monitoring the quality of products during manufacturing through inspection of parts for proper component installation, visual defects, and minute details. This role has a supervisory component with direct reports. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 2:40pm to 11:10pm with possible overtime and occasional Saturdays depending on production and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Implement countermeasures to reduce and prevent internal quality problems and customer complaints
- Support testing of new products/process development and in-process testing
- Inspect, test and measure products, components and materials using analytical equipment
- Analyze and report results
- Support conformance to the Supplier Quality Assurance process
- Review quality procedures, documents and records for completeness and accuracy
- Assist in the development of procedures, work instructions, forms, standardized SOPs and other quality documents as needed
- Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the quality system
- Perform system, process and product audits
- Provide training on quality procedures and techniques
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions
- Support Quality Department to maintain and update quality documents (i.e. QPRs, QIRs, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum two (2) years experience in a Quality Field required
- Experience with corrective action/root cause analysis, supplier quality experience and Good Manufacturing Practices strongly preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 12 hours daily
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Actively pursuing professional growth within the role through greater understanding of customer specific requirements
