Maintenance Buyer
Join our team at our Princeton, KY facility, home to the production of a variety of quality cracker products. We are seeking a Maintenance Buyer to manage the inventory and procurement of maintenance parts and supplies to support the maintenance department. This role ensures that all necessary parts are available for maintenance activities, coordinate orders, and maintain accurate inventory records.
You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
- Own the sites effective inventory control program, including setting minimum and economic order quantities. Recommend improvements to storeroom layouts and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Purchase necessary MRO materials to ensure the availability of parts and supplies for plant operations. Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and prioritize purchasing needs.
- Expedite incoming materials shipments as needed. Communicate closely with team members awaiting receipts to prevent disruptions to plant operations.
- Locate and source critical repair parts, identifying and recommending satisfactory substitutes for unavailable materials and services. Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely access to needed parts.
- Perform regular analyses to determine the most efficient inventory levels required to facilitate timely and effective repairs. Adjust inventory strategies based on analysis findings.
- Assist other departments with purchasing requests as necessary, ensuring all teams have the materials needed for smooth operations.
Important Details:
- This is a full-time, on-site role on first shift. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts and weekends.
You'll fit right in if you have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory management or procurement, preferably in a maintenance or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and procurement software such as SAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
