Wyman-Gordon, located in Princeton KY, provides Nickel-based Extruded Powder Alloy for Military and Commercial Turbine Applications. The Princeton KY facility offers Vacuum-Melt Atomizers; for the raw material needs of the Worcester MA forge Isothermal forge shop. This growing, profit center is part of a highly successful, multi-billion diversified manufacturer. Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC).

We are searching for an experienced and highly motivated PLC Controls Technician responsible for electrical controls design, development, programming, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning of complex control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, and control system failures.
  • Modify PLC programs to improve equipment performance and resolve operational issues.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on PLC related equipment in conjunction with Maintenance.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot motors, drives, sensors, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and industrial networks.
  • Calibrate instrumentation and control devices as needed.
  • Support equipment startups, commissioning, and system upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and documentation.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial automation systems.
  • Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, or Schneider Electric.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (24

    VDC to 480

    VAC).
  • Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial communications.
  • Ability to read electrical prints and troubleshoot control circuits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, Device Net, Profibus, or Modbus networks.
  • Experience with CMMS software.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Electrical license or industrial maintenance certifications.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environments.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery while following all safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work, weekends, or on-call as needed.
