Job Description & How to Apply Below
At Erdman, we design and build automated industrial machinery for the window and door industry. As a world‑class leader in automation and system integration, we live by a simple credo:
Visionary thinking. Exceptional doing.
A day in the life
You’ll take a project from a sketched concept through factory install. In the morning, you might map out control architecture, select pneumatic and hydraulic components, and program safety circuits in a safety PLC. Midday could be refining PLC/HMI/robot code in Studio 5000 and Factory Talk View, running risk assessments, and documenting the control system. By afternoon, you’re on the floor debugging, validating motion control, tuning VFDs and servos, and preparing a machine for customer run‑off.
About a quarter of your time, you’ll be on site with customers—installing, starting up, and certifying systems.
What you’ll own Program equipment to Erdman and customer build specifications
Develop safety circuits with a safety PLC and perform risk assessments, implementing appropriate safety devices
Specify electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components; create thorough control documentation
Design electrical/pneumatic systems; program machine PLCs, HMIs, and robots; debug and certify at customer run‑off Travel to customer sites for equipment installation and startup (approximately 25%)Tech stack you’ll touch
