Job Overview

Fairview is hiring a Security Officer at our Fairview Northland location in Princeton, MN. In this role, you’ll be the calm, confident presence that helps patients, visitors, and staff feel safe from the moment they walk through the doors. You’ll patrol the hospital, respond to calls for service, assist with difficult or high‑risk situations, and proactively prevent theft or vandalism—while delivering strong customer service every step of the way.

This is a 0.6 FTE evening/night-shift position (48 hours per pay period) with every other weekend rotation
. Starting pay is $25.88 per hour and increases with experience, plus shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package that includes tuition reimbursement, a 403(b), and annual merit increases. Week 1:
Monday‑Wednesday 23:00‑07:30

Week 2:
Saturday‑Sunday 19:00‑07:30

• Patrol designated areas according to established procedures and document patrols in daily shift reports.
• Document daily activities in the report‑writing system.
• Provide assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Respond to calls for service.
• Assist in the control (often physical) of potentially violent individuals, requiring strength, stamina, flexibility, and critical thinking.
• Work with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring teamwork and communication with other security officers.
• Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Actively participate in creating and implementing improvements.

• 2 years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
• Associate's degree in a related field and 1 year of security, military, or law enforcement experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Valid Class D driver's license and DMV record meeting Fairview Insurability requirements for assignments that require the operation of a motor vehicle

• Pass pre‑assignment training within the probationary period

• 2 years of hospital security experience
• Certified Peace Officer (POST)
• Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT‑B)
