Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Position Summary

As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at a Walmart local retail store, you will support and oversee repair of Walmart facility refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets. Using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, you will employ hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

• Option 1:
  Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• When required, HVAC‑R/Mechanical Journeyman.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by federal regulations.

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI in the last five years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• No serious traffic violations as defined by federal regulations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

• Individual compensation packages are based on factors such as skill set, experience, level of job offer, qualifications, and other job‑related factors.
• Eligible for bonus incentive.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00–$58.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage at the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or work performed.
