Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC​/Refrigeration

Position Summary

Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at Walmart local retail store. Responsible for supporting and overseeing repair of refrigeration HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.

Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using hand, digital, and power tools. Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities. Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls. Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues. Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. Lift up to 75 lbs, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

• 10 years experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Option 1: 3 years experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration
• Option 2: 6 years experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• Where required, HVAC‑R/Mechanical Journeyman
• 1 year experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, or 2 years Walmart store experience
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license; ability to pass a motor vehicle report
• Ability to read and speak English

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years, or no more than two moving violations in the last three years
• Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2‑year associate’s of applied science in A/C and refrigeration
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO2 systems

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 – $70.00. Premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
