Our client is a growing real estate organization seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1–2 years of accounting experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accountant with a strong foundation, a great attitude, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within real estate accounting.
You’ll support day-to-day accounting operations across multiple properties and legal entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities- Record and reconcile daily accounting transactions, including AP, AR, and general ledger activity
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
- Perform bank, credit card, and escrow account reconciliations
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance analyses
- Partner with property management and operations teams to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate documentation and support internal controls
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–2 years of accounting experience (real estate experience a plus, not required)
- Experience with accounting systems such as Yardi, MRI, App Folio, Quick Books, or similar (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Exposure to property management or real estate accounting
- Understanding of lease structures and property-level financials
- Strong learning opportunity in real estate accounting
