Overview:
The Audit Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements for the Mercer County Improvement Authority and its component units. This role ensures compliance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards, and relevant federal and state regulations. The Audit Manager will supervise audit staff, review work papers and management advisory letters, and communicate findings with the client organization.
- Manage the audit process for financial statements and interim internal control reviews.
- Plan audit engagements and allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Supervise, train, and review the work of senior auditors and audit staff.
- Review audit documentation ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present management advisory letters highlighting findings and recommendations.
- Liaise with client management to discuss audit plans, findings, and corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards and professional conduct.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of auditing experience, including supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of GAAS, Government Auditing Standards, and federal/state audit requirements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Overview:
The Senior Auditor conducts detailed audit procedures for financial statements and internal control reviews under the supervision of the Audit Manager. This role assists in identifying areas for improvement and drafting audit documentation and reports.
- Perform substantive and compliance testing in accordance with auditing standards.
- Assist in planning audit procedures and participate in interim work reviews.
- Identify audit issues, document findings, and prepare draft audit reports.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior audit staff.
- Assist in communicating audit findings to management.
- Ensure all audit work is completed timely and accurately.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
- At least 3 years of auditing experience, preferably in government or public sector auditing.
- Knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Compensation: $65.00 per hour
