Stable Medical Device Company looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team!

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing medical device organization. This role will be responsible for managing cost accounting functions within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, deep manufacturing experience, and a CPA license.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocations
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability
  • Partner with operations to monitor production costs, inventory levels, and efficiencies
  • Maintain and update standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and cost‑related journal entries
  • Support financial close processes related to inventory and cost accounting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning related to manufacturing costs
  • Support audits and provide required documentation for internal and external auditors
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements related to cost accounting
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license preferred
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device or regulated industry preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Experience supporting audits in a regulated industry
