Property Accountant

A well-established real estate organization in Princeton, NJ is seeking a property accountant to join its growing finance team. This position will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights into property and portfolio performance.
• Support the annual budgeting process and prepare periodic forecasts, including quarterly reforecasts of net operating income (NOI).
• Complete year-end tenant reconciliations and assist with audit schedules and supporting work papers.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable activities for assigned properties and legal entities.
• Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly documented.
• Partner with property management, leasing, and operations teams to support business objectives and improve financial performance.
• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc reporting requests.
