Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, International and Private Client services.
Role OverviewAs a Not‑For‑Profit Tax Manager based out of our New Jersey, New York City, or Philadelphia office, you will work alongside seasoned CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements, supervise and mentor staff, and build and maintain client relationships.
How You’ll Spend Your Time- Reviewing annual nonprofit information returns and unrelated business income tax returns for a large and diverse Not‑For‑Profit practice including public charities, private foundations, social welfare organizations, trade associations, and social clubs
- Preparing and reviewing relevant state income tax returns and annual state charitable registration forms
- Researching and resolving tax-exempt organization tax issues
- May include preparation of Employee Benefit Plan, C‑Corp, S‑Corp, Partnership income, fiduciary tax returns, and individual returns as time permits
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA license, JD, or Master of Science in Taxation is required
- At least 5 years of prior experience in the tax department of a public accounting firm, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
- Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast‑paced, interactive, results‑based team environment
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client management
- Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel as needed
The compensation range for this position is $120,000–$180,000 and varies by location for candidates residing in New Jersey or New York City. For these candidates, salary will be based on location. In addition to base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and a bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, and the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
