Job Summary

The DMV Title Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing vehicle titles and registrations for all new and used vehicle sales, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit all necessary documentation for vehicle title and registration applications to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in a timely manner.
  • Verify accuracy of all title and registration paperwork, including owner information, vehicle identification numbers (VINs), and lienholder details.
  • Process out-of-state title transfers and registrations.
  • Resolve any title or registration discrepancies or issues with the DMV, customers, or financial institutions.
  • Maintain organized and accurate title and registration files, both physical and electronic.
  • Communicate effectively with sales staff, finance department, and customers regarding title and registration status.
  • Stay up-to-date on all DMV regulations and changes.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed within the accounting or sales support departments.
Job Qualifications
  • Must have experience with CVR
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a DMV Title Clerk or similar role, preferably within an automotive dealership.
  • In-depth knowledge of DMV laws and regulations pertaining to vehicle titles and registrations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with dealership management software (DMS) is a plus.
