Sourcing Manager

The Strategic Sourcing Execution Manager, Research & Development is responsible for leading and executing high-impact sourcing initiatives that support R&D business objectives. Working under the direction of R&D Sourcing leadership, this role partners cross-functionally to deliver sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, compliance, and continuity of supply.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned to business needs while meeting financial, operational, quality, risk, regulatory, and supply assurance objectives.
• Manage and oversee key supplier relationships, including performance measurement, governance, and alignment to business goals.
• Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and processes through stakeholder communication, training, and identification and reporting of exceptions or deviations.
• Drive cost savings across all sourcing activities and ensure realized savings are reflected in financial results.
• Lead complex, high-value sourcing initiatives by assessing category markets, gathering business requirements, managing RFx processes, negotiating contracts and rate cards, and establishing strategic contractual frameworks.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards while identifying, assessing, and mitigating supplier risks.
• Develop and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sourcing effectiveness, performance, and outcomes against objectives.
• Provide regular updates on sourcing initiatives, including progress, risks, issues, and key insights.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to business partners on category trends, supplier landscapes, and emerging market developments.
• Ensure appropriate controls are in place to meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., third-party risk management, financial controls).
• Execute sourcing activities in alignment with best practices, including spend analysis, RFx tools and templates, contract management, preferred supplier programs, and governance models.
• Negotiate master services agreements, amendments, task orders, and change orders as needed.
• Support additional projects or initiatives as assigned.

• Proven strategic sourcing experience within Pharmaceutical or Biotech R&D categories.
• Demonstrated success executing R&D sourcing projects that deliver preferred or strategic supplier partnerships.
• Strong sourcing expertise, deep category knowledge, and a collaborative, consultative approach.
• Experience working with senior-level stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Basic understanding of ICH E6 guidelines and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
