Summary:

The Director, Global Market Access Oncology Early Assets & Business Development, will provide value, access, and pricing considerations in a systematic way into the product development governance process to help maximize the value of the BMS oncology portfolio and life cycle management.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Oncology Market Access Strategy Integration, Early Assets & Business Development, the Director will lead the development of early market access strategies within assigned oncology asset(s) or sub-portfolio, and relevant business development activities. Key activities include providing strategic access input into the governance process to help determine where to play and how to win, particularly in the context of evolving drug pricing reforms and a complex market access environment with high levels of uncertainty.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead early market access strategy for assigned pipeline oncology compounds/indications, partnering closely with clinical development, early commercialization, and cross functional stakeholders, and represent MAx on relevant Clinical Development Team / Global Program Team where relevant.
  • Inform the future access strategy for new compounds by helping assess clinical development strategies; contribute to the evidence generation plan and mitigation activities to address key market access and pricing opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide oncology MAx input on Business Development requests from early commercialization and M&A/BD&L to assess access and pricing considerations and inform valuation, and represent MAx on the Valuation Core Team as needed.
  • Lead above asset projects and work streams to continue to evolve the oncology MAx expertise and capabilities for Early Assets and BD.
  • Monitor the evolving external environment and synthesize input to inform Market Access strategies, ensuring access and value considerations (e.g., relevant endpoints, comparator, dosing, study population, subpopulation of interest) are reflected in protocol design, in collaboration with the cross-functional team (PASL, Pricing, HEOR, Medical & Local Markets).
  • Partner with cross-functional Market Access teams and extended teams (Commercial, Clinical Development, Business Development, Forecasting, etc.) as well as relevant individual market stakeholders to help optimally position BMS products for success in an increasingly challenging and evolving access landscape.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA / MPH / PharmD or relevant post‑graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of Market Access / Commercial experience with a strong track record in market access strategy, pricing, and/or HEOR in global and/or US markets.
  • Solid understanding of the current and emerging Market Access environment in oncology/hematology.
  • Good working knowledge of the drug development & commercialization process, HTA assessment methodologies, global reimbursement environment, and regulatory requirements, including an understanding of payers and their perspective in key markets.
  • Scientific background, preferably within oncology/hematology, supporting the assessment of trial design impact on payer strategies and the ability to partner with clinical development or medical affairs to help identify relevant clinical endpoints and…
