The Director, Procurement Excellence will design, launch, and lead an AI-native Change Management Center of Excellence (CM CoE) that accelerates awareness, engagement, and adoption of key strategic Global Procurement (GP) initiatives. This role partners closely with the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Extended Leadership Team (XLT), and Program/Project Leads to translate GP's vision and strategy into clear messaging, coordinated execution, and measurable adoption outcomes.
The role also leads periodic leadership alignment forums and offsites, serves as a thought partner and driver for special projects that translate emerging ideas into tangible, quantifiable business value, and establishes the governance, reporting, and portfolio-oversight practices needed to give GP leadership a consistent, real-time view of initiative health across the function. The ideal candidate brings a blend of change management leadership, strategic communications, executive facilitation, and PMO-style governance experience, with a builder's mindset for standing up new organizational capabilities, including the applied use of AI tools from the ground up.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Change Management Center of Excellence (CM CoE) Leadership
- Design and launch an AI-native Change Management CoE that facilitates and accelerates awareness, engagement, and adoption for key strategic Procurement initiatives.
- Create an intake process that assesses initiative risk, complexity, and impact, and prioritizes change efforts accordingly; oversee delivery outcomes of key change initiatives across the GP portfolio.
- Create fit-for-purpose change strategies, partnering with the CPO and SLT to prioritize initiatives and align critical stakeholders, and realign CM plans as needed to deliver optimal KPI results.
- Oversee and build the capabilities of a global team to design and deliver CM support within key Program structures, partnering closely with Program Leads and Project Managers.
- Use BMS AI tools to efficiently deliver CM support in engaging, creative, and cost-effective ways.
- Develop partnerships with key internal stakeholders, including Corporate Affairs, Learning, IT, HRBPs, and GBO Leadership Team members, to facilitate alignment and resource development.
- Report on overall organizational change saturation/fatigue to the CPO and SLT, recommend optimal timing of strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability, clarity, and continuous improvement.
Global Procurement Strategy
- Partner with the CPO and SLT to define and document the Global Procurement vision, strategy, and execution approach.
- Create and oversee delivery of a messaging and awareness strategy with the Communications Director and Corporate Affairs representatives across Global Procurement, ensuring all GP colleagues understand the vision and strategy and can articulate the value GP brings to the rest of BMS.
- Ensure leaders consistently articulate what GP is focused on, why it matters, and how GP efforts connect to BMS enterprise value.
- Monitor shifts in the internal and external environment that could affect GP strategy or priorities and recommend adjustments to the vision or execution approach as needed.
- Maintain a core strategy narrative and supporting materials (e.g., one-pagers, FAQs, talking points) that leadership can reuse consistently across forums and communications.
