Each year our Princeton University Summer Day Camp employs nearly 40 camp counselors. While most of our counselors are ages 18+, we do offer some counselor roles to individuals ages 16-17, based on previous experience in our CIT program or other summer camp program. Being a camp counselor has many benefits, including:

Counselors are expected to work up to 40 hours per week during camp weeks. Training will be held in June before camp begins.
Responsibilities- Supervise a small group of campers with energy and structure.
- Create an inviting atmosphere where all children will feel welcomed and enthusiastic about participating in activities.
- Implement the schedule of activities planned by the Head Counselors and alter games and activities necessary when campers need change.
- Communicate with parents about camper’s schedule and progress.
- Must be over the age of 16 and enjoy working with children.
- Must be able to pass a routine background check.
- Must be certified in Adult/Child CPR/AED and First Aid (provided by Campus Recreation prior to the start of camp).
- Must attend a Pre-Camp Orientation training, and follow all policies and procedures discussed at training.
