Job Title: Construction Inspector

Job Type: Direct Hire

Location: Trenton / Camden areas (Office based in Princeton)

Work Mode: On-site, travel to worksites as needed

Interview Mode: In-person

Salary Range: $115,000 - $125,000 (bonus / overtime eligible as well)

Job Description

Our client, a multidisciplinary AECM firm with a strong east coast presence, is hiring a Construction Inspector for a full‑time, permanent position based in Princeton / South Jersey. The role requires frequent site visits across the Trenton, NJ region and supports infrastructure projects in transportation and structural sectors.

We are looking for candidates with 2.5 to 3+ years of construction inspection experience, specifically on bridge, highway, or structural projects. Railroad experience and familiarity with NJ DOT or NJ Transit protocols will be given strong consideration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on‑site inspections of bridge, highway, and rail‑related construction projects.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and photographic documentation.
  • Liaise with engineers, contractors, and agency representatives to ensure timely communication and issue resolution.
  • Identify and document deficiencies, recommending corrective measures when needed.
  • Support quantity verification and documentation for pay estimates.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to safety standards and site regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 2.5 to 3 years of experience inspecting bridge, highway, or structural construction projects.
  • Experience working on railroad‑related construction sites.
  • Familiarity with, or experience working with, NJ DOT and/or NJ Transit inspection protocols is highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with field documentation tools and inspection software. Preferred Certifications
    • NICET Level II or III in Transportation/Construction Materials Testing or a similar discipline.
    • Equivalent hands‑on experience may be considered in place of certification.
