Key Responsibilities- Examine patients and review dental and medical histories to assess oral health conditions.
- Diagnose oral diseases and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform general dentistry procedures, including fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, bridges, and other restorative treatments.
- Interpret X-rays, scans, and diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Prescribe medications as necessary in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Refer patients to specialists when advanced or specialized care is required.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records in compliance with applicable regulations and privacy requirements.
- Ensure proper sterilization and infection control procedures are followed throughout the practice.
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient care and practice operations.
- Participate in mentorship opportunities and ongoing professional development to expand clinical skills.
- Stay current with advancements in dental techniques, materials, and technologies.
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
- Active and valid dental license in good standing, as required by the state of practice.
- Strong clinical skills across a broad range of general dentistry procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle a varied caseload.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software and digital imaging systems is preferred, but not required.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality, professional conduct, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
