Description
Position OverviewThe Newgrange School is seeking a qualified and student-focused Elementary Teacher to provide effective, standards-based instruction aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS). The successful candidate will support the academic, social, and developmental growth of students through differentiated instruction, collaboration with colleagues and specialists, and consistent family communication. This position requires active participation in IEP implementation and adherence to all New Jersey Department of Education regulations and school policies.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver instruction aligned with NJCCCS and individual student learning needs
- Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments
- Support and implement student IEP goals; attend IEP meetings as required
- Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment conducive to learning
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administrators
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with NJDOE requirements
- Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events
- Supervise students to ensure safety and well-being
- Support the mission, philosophy, and accreditation standards of The Newgrange School
Requirements
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate or Statement of Eligibility with appropriate endorsement
- Knowledge of effective instructional practices and developmentally appropriate strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to ethical and professional standards
- NJDOE fingerprinting and background check required
