Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey, an independent, Catholic all-girls PS-12 Sacred Heart School is searching for a Lower School Counselor. The Counselor serves as a resource to faculty, administration, and families and guides the school in making decisions about the social-emotional health and well-being of the student body. The school seeks candidates who can:

- Engage in professional development opportunities to further develop inclusive teaching and leadership practices.
- Develop and deliver the school counseling curriculum through appropriate courses within the ES, LS and MS (grades 5-6) divisions
- Assist and support students in the areas of emotional and social development
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to better understand and meet the needs of all students
- Provide individual and small group counseling in response to identified needs
- Make appropriate referrals of students and parents to outside agencies and specialists when necessary
- Be visible in school by participating in a variety of activities that allows for the development of trust and relationships with students
- Educate and support parents in their raising of self-aware and confident young women by hosting parent education events and communicating articles and critical information
- Work in partnership with other members of the Counseling Department, Cor Cordis team, Office of Mission & Ministry, and other student support staff
The successful candidate will have experience supporting girls' mental health and wellness in a school setting. Experience working in an all-girls school, or experience in independent schools a plus. The successful candidate will have an appropriate advanced mental health degree and licensure. This position is three days a week and reports to the Head of Mission & Ministry.
The salary range for this part-time position is $36,000 to $42,000 per year.
