Position Overview
Princeton Theological Seminary invites applications for a faculty position in Pastoral Theology, Care, and Counseling at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure‑track).
QualificationsThe successful candidate must hold the MDiv and PhD degrees or their equivalents and demonstrate a vital theological, ecclesiastical, and intercultural understanding of pastoral theology, care, and counseling. They should have a portfolio of publications and teaching experience in the field and research interests in one or more of the following areas:
- Spiritual, social, and political determinants of health
- Communal care, social justice, and liberation
- Pastoral theological perspectives on sexuality and gender
Applicants are also expected to share responsibility for all of the Seminary’s degree programs, offering a broad range of required, introductory, and advanced courses that support the Seminary’s mission and the Practical Theology Department’s needs.
ResponsibilitiesFaculty members are expected to:
- Pursue an active scholarly research agenda
- Supervise PhD students
- Mentor students in all degree programs
- Serve on faculty committees
- Participate regularly in the communal life of the Seminary
Salary range: $85,000–95,000.
