Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton, New Jersey, an independent Catholic diverse all‑girls preschool to 12th grade Sacred Heart School with a mission to educate the whole child and inspire young women to lead lives of exceptional leadership and service is searching for a dynamic after‑school teacher. In this role you will be in charge of overseeing and planning daily activities, with a particular focus on children ages 1‑4 years old.

Ultimately you should be a friendly, approachable individual with a passion for teaching and excellent communication skills. The school seeks candidates who can:
- Plan and oversee daily lesson plans and activities that focus on developing children's social and motor skills.
- Prepare learning materials and equipment, such as books, arts and crafts, stationery, and other supplies as needed.
- Interact with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks.
- Meet with parents to discuss their children's performance and any areas in need of improvement.
- Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment and ensure students conduct themselves appropriately.
- Ensure that all school rules, policies, and guidelines are adhered to in the classroom.
- Have experience with early childhood education, or a similar field.
- Have experience working as an after‑school teacher, teaching assistant, or a similar role, which is valued.
- Have the ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Have a strong knowledge of child behaviour and learning patterns.
- Be able to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Be able to set rules and guidelines for children to follow.
- Have solid organizational skills and the ability to maintain a tidy and neat classroom.
Part‑time hours M‑F 2:30‑6:00pm. The salary for this position is $21.48 per hour.
