As a member of our ASP team, you’ll play a vital role in helping our youngest learners grow socially and emotionally.

Reporting to the Director of After School Programming, our After School Programming team members will:

• Set the stage for fun and focus by preparing a welcoming, organized space that supports a diverse mix of students from PreK–8th grade—creating room to move, play, and thrive.
• Stay sharp and detail-driven by accurately tracking attendance and departures to ensure every student is accounted for, distributing snacks with attention to dietary and medical needs, and helping keep ASP paperwork in order.
• Bring the fun while keeping things flowing—whether it’s supervising a lively game, a quiet craft session, or group projects during homework time.
• Lead with empathy and clarity as you help guide student behavior, model respect and kindness, and support positive peer interactions.
• Support students’ well‑being by maintaining a safe, supportive environment where every child feels seen and valued.
• Respond calmly and confidently to minor health‑related needs—documenting and reporting with care and professionalism.
• Jump in with flexibility and team spirit to support additional needs and responsibilities as they arise.

You are someone who brings:

• Experience working with young children (ages 3‑14) in an after school or teaching environment
• Love and respect for children and belief in the importance of play and relationship‑based teaching
• Experience in and/or strong knowledge of Quaker schools or a commitment to learning and applying Quaker values and practices in a school setting
• Creativity, patience, and a sense of joy to your work
• A strong commitment to anti‑racism in and out of the school day
• A customer service‑oriented approach to working with families
• Reliability, a collaborative nature, and eagerness to contribute to a close‑knit team
• Excitement to play in all seasons, no matter the weather—digging, exploring, building, and getting muddy
• A commitment to supporting the physical and emotional safety of students
• A thirst for training and growth opportunities related to child development, social‑emotional learning, and early literacy and math programs
• CPR and First Aid certification (or a willingness to be certified)
• A certification or degree in education or related field (preferred)

The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday from 3:00‑6:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:30‑6:00 p.m. with additional (flexible) hours on non‑federal holidays and observances for Holiday Camp, though additional hours and responsibilities may be possible for the right candidate.

• $17 per hour

• Move actively around a classroom and outdoor campus
• Frequently sit on the floor or low chairs, stand, bend, and lift up to 10 pounds
• Support student safety on the playground and in indoor spaces
• Engage in outdoor play and exploration in a range of weather conditions
